After all the eating, the day has passed. And looking back....it was nothing special, in fact got "pissed" too. First...when I got my family out for a lunch buffet at Merchant Court Hotel, my kids just eat like a "mouse" not that I am a super "kiasu" but when it comes to eating at buffet the "understanding" is to eat some nice food. Meaning can be the food you really like or the better valued food.....but the trouble with my kids are they hardly want to eat the hotel food saying that they cannot find the food they used to eat.
How lei? Hotel food is not like home cooked food...their's is just fried salmon and egg or with some veggies. The food there on that day was reasonable selection....and with an "open mind" it can be fun to sample.
I must remind myself not to bring them to any more buffet in future. What a waste of money? Maybe just bring them to eat chicken rice....the sad thing here is they will eat the rice without the chicken, shit! They claim...the chicken has too much oil/fat, and their ideal chicken rice is the one at Upper Thomson - Chicken House ( they sell "kampong chicken" ). Still they will eat less chicken than the rice.
All these remind me that as parents we can teach our children well by opening their mind to try or sample new things...eg food. Why some children won't like veggie....is becoz of some parents themselves won't eat veggies. Same with some of the things we "hate/fear".....fear of height or darkness and so on. These fear things will remain with us for a long long time until....we can overcome it later.
good thing is the pau2 from my honey.....that made my day.
ReplyDeletebest to teach our children to have an open mind....for their own good.
