A wish of hope for 2006.

A simple act of kindness, chaste and true
No elaborate fanfare on trumpets high
Nor grandiose actions in glorious splendour
But an earnest desire for hope they aspire
Children seeking embrace, safe and warm
Families fighting despair and woeful trials
Through the heavy and anguish hours
A sincere yearn for tender words, the only desire
A genial expression from the heart
Angelic acts in human guise
At times in the face of family and friends
Often in the form of a stranger lending a hand
Spreading goodwill through the still of night
Silent benedictions that banish hate and fear
With sincere words full of hope, full of light
Peace prevails, goodness nears.
To keep that hope high!
