Meal replacements — those products that provide an entire meal's worth of nutrition and calories in a single bar or shake — are often used as a core component of the American dieter's meal plan. You have probably seen them in the supermarket and in TV ads. Just one small shake or bar, and you've got yourself a complete meal.
Meal replacements sales have now topped 1 billion dollars a year. What makes them so popular? The simple answer is that they work: Eating fewer calories will naturally result in weight loss. But meal replacements only work when you stick with the plan.
If you want to lose weight and think you'd like to try a meal-replacement product, first weigh the pros and cons. On the plus side, meal replacements:
are convenient
can save you time
are calorie and portion controlled
are often fortified with vitamins and minerals
often have a sweet taste that can satisfy a sweet tooth
On the downside, meal replacements:
can be expensive
often become boring because they don't come in many varieties. For example, Slim Fast® shakes only come in a few flavors.
might not satisfy your appetite the same as a meal would — drinking a shake may not be as satisfying as eating a turkey sandwich.
sometimes leave a vitamin aftertaste — and if you don't like the taste, you won't stick with the program and lose weight.
In sum, meal replacements can be effective for weight loss when replacing one or two meals each day. They are generally safe, as long as your calorie intake doesn't fall too low. If your calorie intake falls below 1,200 per day, you should ask your physician to supervise your diet.
Meal replacements can work if you do the work and follow the plan.
Guessed...after getting burnt by the stock and forex market and with what are happening at the moment. Best to lay low and count my blessing for now....and prepare myself for whatever is happening and the future!

Take 5 Years Off Your Face - fr Yahoo
Your eyes are one of the first places on your face to age. I’ve got nothing against getting older, but anything I can do to prevent looking older, I’ll try (as long as it doesn’t involve needles!).
Here are a few easy secrets I’ve learned as SELF’s editor-in-chief:
Block the sun: If you’re an outdoors person like I am, you probably know that sunglasses, even the big-framed ones everybody’s wearing now, don’t always shield the full eye area. Rays can leak in from the sides or top, and rays reflected off pavement or sand can sneak in from the bottom.
I’ve always been leery of using sunscreen near my eyes because somehow it always seems to migrate into them, and that stings! But my beauty editors turned me onto sunscreens made with mineral (as opposed to chemical) ingredients, such as titanium dioxide or zinc, which don’t irritate. They’re often labeled "no-sting" or "tear-free." Another hint: Formulas for babies or kids may use those ingredients, too.
Fake a good night’s sleep: Believe it or not, moisturizer is the answer to lightening dark circles. That’s because undereye skin appears darker when it’s dehydrated. Look for a cream with hyaluronic acid; I can’t explain exactly how it works, but it binds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, leaving you moisturized with no greasy feel.
Prevent puffing: Pile on the pillows (even one extra will do) when it’s time to snooze. The added elevation prevents fluids from pooling underneath your eyes.
Wake up with makeup: It seems like every single makeup artist SELF talks to says one of the quickest, best ways to make eyes look big and bright is to use an eyelash curler. I confess I don’t always do this (when I’m in a hurry, it just seems like one step too many), but when I see myself in the mirror and think "You look tired," the curler’s the first thing I pull out now. Try it.

Going to the US?
Are you considering coming over to the States with your family to stay for good? There are jobs in Phoenix and housing is at the all time low cost at the moment. You can get a nice 3 bedrooms, about 1800 sq ft house for US$250,000 around here. You and Wendy should come and explore what is available. Concerning immigration, Jack and I will sponsor you and your family.
Francis.
Btw....Jack and Francis is my 3th and eldest brother.
For that price....I can just trade in my 4 rooms 90 sq m HDB flat and I can get a nice landed property is the US. Yes! I can always work for my brother in his hardware shop hahaha, but then I am waiting for my retrenchment from my present company before even want to think of the above option.

Look like mother Earth is getting angry
Well...from the last time I up-dated till today there seem to be much happening. So many deaths resulting from the Burma - cyclone and China - Sichuan Earthquake. Plus the record price for oil and the bomb blasts from India to Sri Lanka.
Look like Mother Earth is trying to tell us something here with these 2 major disasters. For Burma, the incident just made the military rulers looked even worst while in China, it is just the opposite. At least for this moment....the anger about the Tibet / Olympic flame issue is pushed into the background and the heroics of the will of the Chinese people from the top to those helping and the survivors have taken the headlines. And everyone is kept busy to continue wanting to see better result from the rescue efforts.
For the bombing in India and Sri Lanka....this show there enough crazy nut cases in this earth who cannot see peace. They just gotto go blow-up themselves and those unlucky people who are just happened to be there together to show their unhappiness with the system they are born in.
From all these events....one thing is very clear, life is truly fragile and one cannot be too cocky or sure about tomorrow....it may never come for some! Now back to us here in Singapore....we are worry about having not enough money to spend, skin getting dark, dropping hair, getting old, petrol price going up, price for food and other things also going up, not enough pay, not enough sex, children's exam result, too much work, not enough time with the family, no holiday, not enough to eat....while at the same time worried about getting too fat, getting sick, what to wear to work / outing, not kena 4D/toto, children not calling mama/mommy/papa, eat too full, eat too little esp at buffet, not shitting or shitting too much, this and that. You know what I meant.......
right?
Maybe it is time for us to reflect on what we really want for the future....for ourselves and our family since we are damn lucky to be here in Singapore. No natural disaster....the only experience of earthquake is the temor we felt from the earthquake in Indonesia, for some they are already so worried that they ran out into the open. Just think what those people in Sichuan China felt with their 7.9 earthquake? Shit....I saw a clip in BBC showing people cannot keep their balance even standing in the open. Or like the cyclone in Burma....what I have experienced before was strong wind and heavy rain for maybe 20 min but those in Burma....the cyclone and the 4 meter high wave lasted for hours, to be actual in some cases 12 hours. Shit....no wonder, everything was blown away and washed away.
Well...for now, I have more or less made up my mind to try to be more contented with my lot and also show more compassion to others. Frankly I won't want to sound like I am a completely changed person becoz of these disaster....as I am not so sure for how long this change will last. Anyway....one thing is for sure, I will want to be nicer to my loved ones and to spend more time and money with them.

Saturday - Up-dating time
Man....just about to lose count of the days when I last up-date here. And in between, so many things happened. As for myself....I was down for 3 weeks for catching a cold then since last Tuesday....had the sinus problem again ( after 2 yrs ).
True.....having sinus is even worst then the cold/cough/running nose that I had for the 3 weeks becoz with sinus the pain is so horrible. Esp on Thursday morning....it got so bad that even to think or to open the eye, also cannot tahan the pain. It was like "shooting type"...across my face esp just above my right eye.
The last time...I kena 4D also is a distance memory hehehe and today I managed to kena $500 for my house address. Buy until weak weak....that is why I kena only $500 gross. Maybe sfter nett off.....lucky if I can get $100 balance hehehe. At least, can clear of some outstanding 4D payment.
For toto....no smell, PERIOD!!! hehehe....let's face it, it is not easy to start with even for 3 + 1 for $20 prize. Anyway...no regret in life.
Was talking about what happening in the world?.....oil at $125, Burma kena cyclone....so what? The trouble was so many people lost their lives and livelihood....man! who can think the heavy rain and strong wind can caused so much suffering. Maybe this is due to the fact, whatever strong wind and heavy rain we experienced here was nothing compared to the cyclone graded wind and rain these Burmese people suffered from. Guess....myself is still having this tunnel vision thing.
One good thing for the last week....was that I gotto spend sometime with my honey, I am happy with that....thank you honey!

Today is International Disturbed People's Day
Every sixty seconds you spend angry, upset or mad, is a full minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Today's Message of the Day is : Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile. Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance.
I don't care if you lick windows, take the special bus or occasionally pee on yourself..You hang in there sunshine, you're friggin' special!!!
For all the Insane people of the world...and that included me hehehe.

Saturday - last day of this working week
Well....it is almost gone, what I mean is the week. Since now is already morning hours of Sunday,
I am preparing to go home and sleep hahaha.
For the past few weeks....the routine was such esp with things being this way and also I am not being well. Caught a cold....and a nagging as such that I spent most of the past week resting at home with the exception of having to attend the training at AIA Tampines....then went to catch up on 2 movies by myself. The movies were so-so.....nothing to talk about. One ....Escape from Huang Shi was about an Englishman trying to find news stories at China during the World War 2
( the hero is speaking in chinese ) and the other ....The Forbidden Kingdom was about a New York kid who found himself back in time to the Monkey King's time. Also in the Middle Kingdom...which was China too ( while these heroes - Jacky Chan and Jet Li are talking in semi-broken english ).
Also for this week....my mood was down and also trying to shake off my flu. Beside all these, the luck for 4D and toto....also "gone". That about sum up my week lor.
Learn one thing ....that in this present time, it is most important to be rich. See the case of Venture boss's wife. She slapped a SIA stewardress and yet the court throw out the case against her but if she is one of us....I believed she would be charge and jail. So....even in a country like Singapore, the rich can get away with most screw-ups except murder ( frankly who knows the limit ) hahaha.
It is a great time to be rich now ....a perfect time for it.
