To understand Bible prophecy is a worthy, rewarding goal. The Bible boldly promises to let you know the future (Rev 1:1-3), something not possible without revelation from God. But it never promises that it will be easy. Instead it says in several places that it will take rare wisdom and righteousness to achieve (Dan 12:10; Rev 13:18; Mt 24:15).
While you are still gathering this wisdom you are going to be susceptible to almost every half-baked theory and prediction created. They often come straight to your inbox forwarded by friends or from newsgroups. Wars, earthquakes, terrorist attacks, asteroid impacts, marshal law, economic collapse and everything else imaginable are predicted. The funny thing is, mostly these ideas come from fellow believers. Jesus was not kidding when he warned us that many would come in his name deceiving many. Sadly, Christians deceive their fellow Christians more than any secular skeptic could.
It happens because when we encounter such theories for the first time, we are ill-equipped to debunk them, much like Eve was when Satan told her the first lie she ever heard. Like Satan's lie, these predictions effectively mix the truth of the Word of God with error. We may doubt a prediction, but the fear of what would happen if they turn out to be accurate can be very powerful. So we end up watching "just in case" because we cannot debunk them. Sound familiar? I confess I took this same approach when Y2K was approaching ten years ago because I still understood very little of Bible prophecy properly back then. With all I have learned since then, I no longer have to wait and see if such predictions happen. They can usually be debunked in seconds (much to the annoyance of those who dream up these theories and their supporters).
Thankfully, you can learn to do the same. You do not have to fall for everything that I did and others continue to fall for. With wisdom and instruction you can debunk all the popular theories out there. Here, then, are the top prophecy pitfalls I have seen, in descending order, along with the wisdom to climb out of each pit.
7. Economic Signs of the End -- Ever notice that whenever there is a great tragedy, inevitably it is suggested that it is the fulfillment of some Bible prophecy? Whether it be 9-11, Hurricane Katrina, major earthquakes or Russia at war with Georgia, or Israel invading Gaza, the speculation flies. The recent global economic downturn is no exception. Some predict that the economic trouble is the beginning of the end for America.
While it is true that Bible prophecy does predict the fall of America, the fall is not characterized as beginning with an economic collapse nor as happening gradually. Bible prophecy indicates that Mystery Babylon falls suddenly, in a single day, even a single hour (Rev 18:8, 10). What most people overlook (me included, until recently) is that she still sits on top of the world (as all seven continents as the seven mountains represent) both militarily and economically when it happens. We know this because the Bible says that the seafaring merchants who were made rich by trading with her principle city will weep at the sight of her sudden destruction which means no one will buy their merchandise any more (Rev 18:11-19).
Therefore America is not on a slow descent to be replaced by, say, China. Instead we can expect she will rebound from this economic crisis as she always does. She will continue to dominate the world until the day she falls at the hands of her many enemies. (Note: If this concept is new to you, my book has strong proof that America is the only fit for Mystery Babylon.
By the way, even speaking of the coming End of the Age, a declining economy is not a sign. Jesus in speaking of the Great Tribulation which rounds out this age, described prosperity and ease with people eating, drinking, building and marrying (Mt 24:38). Paul described it as a time of peace and safety (1Th 5:3). In fact, the Antichrist comes to power through proving he is God and can save the world from the disaster of star Wormwood's passage (Rev 6-8; 2The 2:4). It is amazing the answers you find contrary to conventional wisdom when you look diligently in the Bible.

maybe must think of something else to occupy my free time but at this moment just cannot think of any. maybe sleep early and wake up later? wifey is busy with her project in poly...honey has her own work cut out for her mah ( email her...no reply too ). now even the retiree at my condo...is nowhere in sight, same same for the monkeys at Bt Timah hill.

more about 2012 from the bible
Revelations 14:9-11
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
The bible gives one many insights into possible forthcoming of Doomsday which, according to the bible, is supposed to occur after rapture and judgment. Bible researchers predict this time based on scripture to be in 2012. More specifically, the forth coming of Jesus is in May of 2011 where the bible portrays and image of ascendancy of pure chosen individuals into the gates of heaven while sinners with the mark of the beast (devil) will remain on physical earth to receive Judgment on December 21, 2012. Recent research by Harold Camping has shown that the December 21, 2012 date may not be completely accurate. According to his new book “We are almost there”, Judgment will occur in October 2011. Revelations also shows us an insight on how God’s wrath will be applied to this Earth.
Revelations 16:8-11, 17-18
And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, and blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds. And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up. And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
Revelations depicts an angry God that will employ the aid of angles to strike down on the earth will great fury. Many Biblical scholars believe that rather than death by water as seen in the story of Noah’s ark, this Doomsday will be collection of disasters; most notably death by fire. In reading this scripture, one may infer that God or Jesus, the son of God will come forth with angels from heaven, blanket the earth by fire, darken the skies, boil all water, and plague the earth with great earthquakes and natural disasters. On a positive note, the bible also seeds the idea that not all of mankind will experience this disaster. The individuals that have not repented for their sins are the ones which will experience judgment while others will ascend to the kingdom of heaven. We see this in Thessalonians.
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the archangel’s call, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first; then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so we shall always be with the Lord.
We also see evidence in the OLD TESTAMENT with Isaiah describing the events of Tribulation.
Isaiah 13: 9-13
Behold the day of the Lord cometh cruel both with wrath and fierce anger to lay the Land desolate: and He shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. For the stars of Heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the Sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the Moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the World for their evil and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the Terrible. I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man the Golden Wedge of Ophir. Therefore I will shake the Heavens, and the Earth shall remove out of her place.
Likewise, Tribulation is also mentioned by St. Matthew but in a context that there is no hope. St. Matthew’s account portrays an image that one can not save oneself nor god to save oneself. The Earth will be devoid of all mankind and only “father” will exist. Here is the actual scripture.
Matthew 24: 21-22; 29, 36
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the Angels of Heaven, but my Father only
Another area that I will soon be discussion as I find more research is the counter arguments for Biblical doomsday. Some critics believe that the bible is being misinterpreted in several ways. Some of the major ideas of misinterpretation is the idea of the “coming of the new age”. Many Biblical researchers believe that the Second Coming of Christ coincides with the change of the Age of Pieces to the Age of Aquarius. If we apply what the bible shows us about Christ’s second coming, Doomsday will coincide with the the Age of Aquarius. But this is not a widely accepted theory where many believe that the world will not end with the Age of Aquarius (2012), yet rather simply move on to a new age. A shift from Pieces (the fish symbol) to Aquarius (water bearer), generally referenced during Passover in the book of Luke.
Many Doomsday theorist do not believe in a passive change in Age, yet rather interpret the following scripture as evidence for doomsday:
Luke 22:10
And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
This may be viewed as a direct reference to the Age of Aquarius where the disciples (mankind) will enter into the city (kingdom of heaven) when we meet Aquarius (a man bearing a pitcher of water). Although I generally do not give my personal opinion on ideas to stay non-bias, in this case, I believe some theorists are taking the scripture out of context where Christ is referencing passover, not the change of age and ascendancy into the kingdom of heaven.

2012 - the final fantasy? Another 3 yrs and the truth will be known!
There have been too many prophecies, messages left by ancient civilizations, and recent scientific realities to simply write off the year 2012 as just another Y2K. More importantly, whereas the secrets of Y2K were not fully known until one specific moment in time, we won’t have to wait until 11:11pm on December 21, 2012 to see if all the ancient mystics and scientific theories are true.
We will see increased unnatural physical phenomena occur over the next three years.Is there is brown dwarf, known variously as Planet X or Nibiru, out there (discovered by NASA in 1994) that is in an elliptical course that will bring it too close to us in 2012? Does the Mayan calendar, written many centuries ago, predict the end of the world on December 21, 2012, the end of time, or the beginning of a new era?
Will the increased sun spot activity during its regular cycles of 11 years, along with the long view 178 year cycle, create havoc and destruction of an unprecedented nature when 2012 arrives? And is the Earth’s magnetic field, which guards our planet and life on course for a reversal of poles in 2012?
Magnetic reversals have happened 171 times in the last 76 million years: 14 in the last 4.5 million years. From the peak magnetic intensity of 2,000 years ago, the magnetic values have dropped 38%: 7% in the last 100 years. Will 2012 be the tipping point?
To the above we must add the Earth’s passing through the galactic plane, an event that happens only every 26,000 years–otherwise known as the Galatic Shift. The black hole that holds our galaxy together has the earth and sun in alignment, creating unknown climate and weather catastrophes. That crossing will happen again in 2012. Obviously as we get closer to the event, unusual physical eruptions will occur. No need to wait til 2012 to figure out if this one is true or not.
Finally, scientists have discovered a ten-fold increase in the layer of deflected interstellar plasma on the heliosphere boundary which indicates that the solar system is headed into an area of magnetized plasma that will cause major impacts on our weather and climate.
But there is another scenario and it is the one to which I have set my labors. Could the magnitude of 2012, and the possibility of the destruction of the earth so cause humankind to see their need to unify to such a degree that the consciousness of mankind alters all the above?
Could we be seeing the ushering in of what’s been variously known as a “Golden Age“, or the unveiling of the “Sons of God“? Are there both scientific and spiritual forces at play here that will bring our planet into a healing of the wounds of thousands of years? We know that the human brain contains millions of tiny magnetic particles that are affected by the earth’s magnetic particles. Could part of the answers be found here?
We know that consciousness is made of energy, and energy includes electricity and magnetism, and we know all that around us is changing very fast. Were the Peruvian shamans of the past and those living in the Andes Mountains correct in telling us that a new species of human beings would begin to appear and be manifested in 2012? Are they on to something, know something, that we are ignorant of understanding? Are there already forerunners of what they call “Homo Luminous” here that will usher in a new Kingdom?
Scientists tell us that it was about 26,000 years ago that Cro-Magnon man appeared and changed the face of the planet. Has mankind banished God, the Creator of the universe to some “heavenly sphere out there” while stripping man and the earth of its sacredness? I think we have! So it is, I believe we will see a return to the divine will… in every day life. I believe spiritual transformation is about to be put into exponential gear. There are too many ancient traditions that promise that the world can and will awaken to its divine, intended purpose.
Our present world bears witness not to the divine, but to our own greed and selfishness. We’ve lost sight and have been blinded to our ultimate purpose… to live as gods, with “the” God being ONE with us.
Fantasy? Maybe even a Final Fantasy?
If humankind doesn’t face the “realities” that appear headed our way in the next five years, our future looks dim indeed. However, the ball is still in our court. So it is that over the next three years, God willing, that I intend to monitor both the natural and the spiritual progress (or lack thereof) of life on planet earth.

Are they on to something, know something, that we are ignorant of understanding? Are there already forerunners of what they call “Homo Luminous” here that will usher in a new Kingdom?
Scientists tell us that it was about 26,000 years ago that Cro-Magnon man appeared and changed the face of the planet. Has mankind banished God, the Creator of the universe to some “heavenly sphere out there” while stripping man and the earth of its sacredness? I think we have! So it is, I believe we will see a return to the divine will… in every day life. I believe spiritual transformation is about to be put into exponential gear. There are too many ancient traditions that promise that the world can and will awaken to its divine, intended purpose.
Our present world bears witness not to the divine, but to our own greed and selfishness. We’ve lost sight and have been blinded to our ultimate purpose… to live as gods, with “the” God being ONE with us.
Fantasy? Maybe even a Final Fantasy?
If humankind doesn’t face the “realities” that appear headed our way in the next five years, our future looks dim indeed. However, the ball is still in our court. So it is that over the next three years, God willing, that I intend to monitor both the natural and the spiritual progress (or lack thereof) of life on planet earth.
We have choices… we have time or do we?

No way....not bitter about anything really, just worry when looking at how things are turning out. About the direction...religion is taken by the very people who should be showing good example but ending hijacking it for their own ends! Yet...the
people are more than willing to go along with the leaders. Are we getting "blind" or "stupid" by the day??? If that is true...then the present education is also to be blamed! It should be turning out all-rounders who can think and reason on their feet

As one gets older....things become clearer but then again, it's not always better too. As for my case....children and wife have their own things to keep themselves busy...same same for honey too. So....end up with plenty of time in hands but nothing much to do.
Can only watch life moving on slowly without my involvement. Children busy with their cell-activities....Church thingy. Oh....City something, and acting like limbos by dressing and making up to the nines and going out the whole day only to come home late in the night. What the fish wrong with these nuts??? Just don't quite understand what are they doing the whole day/night. What is the different between them and the fanatics who got "brain-washed" to kill themselves and others? To me, if they will to spend that much time studying then their future would be much better and brighter then what they have now. Can't people see that all these acting....are
master-minded by the so called leaders....who make good money out of the activties.
There is pastor....looking like a mohawk red indian wannabe, wife become a "ang mo" wannabe? Btw....no matter what they tried to look like....they are still chinese! Just to show that they don't have respect for themselves and their religion...unless
they are playing clowns! Then....there are others playing gods or doing shows.
Do...people going to church need to wear such make-up and dresses? Or are these just activities for boys/girls meet thingy? Even religion...has to go to such "madness" to recruit new members. Recently...know about another relative....being a as called born-again christian who also has changed her life completely by spending any free time eg after work or weekend doing the cell-activities or visiting or recruiting new members. No time to spend with own parent....poor old mother has to go downstairs to look for other old people to talk....all in the name of religion!
For myself....always thought being a good "whatever religion" should first show respect to own parents and spend time with them, then own children and spouse....and
only with extra time go to prayer house to go then go home to take care of own house. Then still got too much free time...go do charity works then can earn some merits. Guess...my thinking of out of date.....now got short-cut to heaven by just going and spending time with cell group and can go to heaven.
Religion....is not the same thing as what I use to know. Now even.....monk, head of religion and priest got huge pay and cheat to get rich quickly by hook or by crook.
Sad....and they are already being treated like semi-gods but still need more money and power! What is this???? How can this be???? Don't they have any pride or respect for themselves???? Now...religion is huge business, can get rich faster too.
And if the world is to perish by 2012 thingy...then I won't be surprised at all, as lots of things have got too much ahead of themselves. Too much evil happening done in the name of god....and it has gone on for too long and beyond the norm. Something gotto be done to clean house!

Well...since today is about over, it is like any normal day. In fact...since this morning it was raining most of the day, not heavy...but it was cloudy. I was warned about a giant tsunami hitting us during the day....lucky that it was not true. Hopefully....things will be looking up from here on. I prayed that....things be smooth for my loved ones ( wifey, children....and my honey ) and if needed...that I
go "smoothly and fast" as one of my wishes for the day.
Anyway...woke up at about 10am and then go pray2 at Waterloo, then vege lunch then to 2 other temples along the way home. By the time..I got back it was already 2.30pm.
Didn't managed to sleep much....and now kind of sleepy. Will top-up with some coffee then I will be okay.
go "smoothly and fast" as one of my wishes for the day.
Anyway...woke up at about 10am and then go pray2 at Waterloo, then vege lunch then to 2 other temples along the way home. By the time..I got back it was already 2.30pm.
Didn't managed to sleep much....and now kind of sleepy. Will top-up with some coffee then I will be okay.
My bro and his family has went back to US
Back to quiet time hahaha....for the past 12 days, it was hectic esp have to bring them around. Then on weekends....family gathering at my place. Even my neighbour complaint about the noise during the day. Guess condo people very sensitive type.
In the beginning...I was worried about what to do for them and where to go and so on, then now...it is all over! Guessed not everything go as per plan....it turns out I have to play it with the mood and situation and from the look of things, I managed to balance the time correctly. His wife and children....want more shopping time while my brother does not. So...went with him to do other things eg visit my aunties and other relatives while his family went shopping. Or go eat durians while dropping his wife and children to go shopping. Yeah...my brother is "pretty tight" with money.
Just gave each kid S$50 for shopping while giving wife S$200. What a joke? End-up it was me who buy stuffs for the children.....already 17 and 13yrs girls. They came with 2 bags...and went home with 4 bags hehehe....that is what I called shopping holiday hor!
They went home yesterday morning and they have already reached home this afternoon.
Now....all quiet again sighed!
